St. Andrews Family Shelter
Homeless in Hugo? Does that really happen here?
It is only a step away for families who might lose a job, or the hours needed to make ends meet, or a spouse to help meet the bills.
It might surprise you to find there are neighbors next door in need. Your children’s friends in school. The next person in line for gas or at the grocery store.
New Life Church Lutheran has joined with a number of local churches to sponsor this Family Shelter organized by St. Andrews Church in Mahtomedi.
The St. Andrews Family Shelter has changed it's focus of operation, and we are working to find ways we can help them and provide more information for people interested in getting involved. In the past we enjoyed a very hands-on interaction with the families at the shelter, providing meals, providing laundry supplies, and staffing overnights.
We will see what new options are available to us to provide service to those transitioning out of homelessness.
Welcome baskets for new families to the house: toiletries, diapers for families with babies, special snacks, like sweet & salty popcorn,
gift cards to: area dining, Aldi, Quick Trip
Pick-a-Month drive to gather supplies for shelter: laundry soap, hand washing soap, toiletries ..TBA
