In honor of Veteran's Day, we are sharing God's Word with our troops through Faith Comes By Hearing's Military BibleStick project. The Military BibleStick is a digital audio player that is preloaded with a dramatized recording of the entire New Testament and some selected Psalms. Over 1.3 million of these Audio Bibles are now in the field. The cost of one BibleStick is $25. When each service member or veteran receives a Biblestick, he or she has the opportunity to send a free MP3 Bible on disc to their family to support them as well. Checks can be made out to "New Life Church" with “Military BibleStick” in the memo and placed in the Noisy Can on or before November 17.
The Hugo Fire Department is doing its annual Food and Toy Drive for local families in need. New Life is partnering with the Fire Department and Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf by serving as a drop-off spot for people in our community to donate. The drop-off container is located outside the doors of the church.
New Life Women's Christmas White Elephant party is Monday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 pm at Dee's party room at Chauncey Barett Gardens, 7022 Centerville Rd. “Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving” Nov '24
Thanksgiving is a time of year when we try to remember to give thanks. Not to state the obvious, but giving thanks is in the name of the holiday: Thanksgiving! We try to show our appreciation for what we have. This can include our relationships and the people in our lives. This can also include the physical things in our lives like our home, food, finances, toys, and so many other things. We can also give thanks for the intangible things in our lives, like our stress level, mental health, and outlook on life. In one of the beautiful Psalms/poems in the Bible, we read “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 107:1). No matter what we give thanks for at Thanksgiving, there is one thing which will never change: God’s love. He loves us, He is there for us, and He is the source of everything good in life. Now that is something to give thanks for!
